Our secondary focus is teaching mental health professionals, Survivors and the general public about trauma, recovery and trauma informed care.
Types of trauma
We teach the difference between relational trauma and environmental trauma. It can impact people differently and, as a result, the recovery process is different. Cultural, societal, and biological needs also play a role in knowing how to best serve every survivor of trauma.
neuroscience
Recognizing that neuroscience plays a significant role in understanding how trauma impacts people we offer regular courses on this vital topic. Knowing how survivors have been impacted by their trauma helps us understand how to help them heal.
Technology and Trauma
How do we use technology to make trauma recovery resources readily available to survivors around the globe? Without technology many of those who have experienced trauma will never get help. It's part of our mission to make trauma recovery resources readily available around the world.
adjunctive services
Recovery from trauma often requires employing a variety of healing modalities. We advocate for survivors, and their families, to have access to adjunctive services such as Art Therapy, Equine Therapy, Restorative Yoga, Movement Therapy and Mindfulness.
