Effective Date: November 1, 2026
Applicable Courses:
Discover Trauma Recovery Coaching (Mini Course)
Personal Journey Course (PJC)
These terms apply to the personal education courses listed above. They do not replace or modify the separate terms, enrollment agreements, or refund policies applicable to IAOTRC's professional certification programs.
1. Course Purpose and Educational Nature
IAOTRC offers these online courses to provide education about trauma, its potential aftereffects, trauma recovery coaching, and opportunities for personal understanding and growth.
The Mini Course introduces participants to the trauma recovery coaching profession and IAOTRC's approach to coaching.
The Personal Journey Course helps participants explore how traumatic experiences may influence personal development, relationships, beliefs, and well-being through educational materials and optional personal reflection.
Both courses are designed for independent, self-paced learning.
2. Educational and Professional Disclaimer
Course videos, presentations, written materials, worksheets, reflection activities, and additional resources are provided for educational and informational purposes only.
These courses do not constitute psychotherapy, counseling, mental health treatment, medical care, diagnosis, or individualized professional advice.
Participation does not establish a therapist-client, healthcare provider-patient, or individual coaching relationship with IAOTRC, its instructors, or course contributors.
Course materials should not replace appropriate professional healthcare or mental health services. Participants are encouraged to consult qualified professionals regarding personal health concerns, symptoms, treatment decisions, or significant emotional distress.
No particular personal, psychological, medical, or recovery outcome is promised or guaranteed.
3. No Professional Certification or Credential
Neither course provides professional certification, licensure, or authorization to practice trauma recovery coaching or mental health services.
Completion of either course does not qualify participants to represent themselves as IAOTRC-certified trauma recovery coaches.
These courses do not replace IAOTRC's professional Trauma Recovery Coach Certification Program.
4. Sensitive Content and Participant Well-Being
Course materials may address sensitive subjects, including trauma, childhood adversity, abuse, neglect, difficult relationships, and the emotional, psychological, relational, and biological aftereffects of trauma.
Some information or reflection activities may bring up uncomfortable emotions, memories, or reactions.
Participants are encouraged to engage with course materials at their own pace and make choices about what feels appropriate for them.
Personal reflection activities are optional. Participants are not required to disclose traumatic experiences, revisit painful memories, or complete activities that feel overwhelming.
Participants may pause, skip, or revisit materials at any time.
If course participation causes significant emotional distress, participants are encouraged to stop the activity and seek support from an appropriately qualified professional.
These courses are not intended to provide crisis intervention or emergency assistance. In an immediate emergency, contact local emergency services. In the United States, individuals experiencing a mental health crisis may call or text 988.
5. Personal Responsibility and Choice
Participants retain responsibility for deciding how to engage with the educational materials and whether particular reflections or activities are appropriate for their circumstances.
Course content is intended to support learning and personal exploration rather than prescribe specific decisions, behaviors, treatments, or recovery approaches.
Participants are encouraged to seek appropriate professional guidance when needed.
6. Digital Course Access and Delivery
Both courses are delivered digitally through Mighty Networks.
Access to course materials is provided according to the duration, features, and conditions disclosed on the applicable course purchase page.
Courses are designed for self-paced participation.
Individual coaching, personalized feedback, live instruction, and community participation are not included unless specifically stated in the purchased course description.
Participants are responsible for maintaining compatible devices, internet access, and the confidentiality of their account credentials.
IAOTRC may make reasonable updates to course content and delivery. If a material change substantially affects access that has already been purchased, IAOTRC will provide an appropriate remedy consistent with applicable law.
7. Refund and Cancellation Policy
Both courses provide digital educational content, with access generally made available upon enrollment.
Participants are encouraged to review the course description, included materials, access duration, and purchase terms before completing their purchase.
Except where otherwise required by applicable law, purchases are final and non-refundable once access to the digital course materials has been provided.
This policy does not waive or restrict any mandatory cancellation, refund, or consumer protection rights available under applicable law.
If a technical problem prevents access to purchased materials, participants should contact IAOTRC for assistance. IAOTRC will make reasonable efforts to resolve the problem or provide an appropriate remedy.
8. Prices and Payments
The applicable course price, any available payment plans, and charges will be disclosed before purchase.
If installment payments are offered, the payment amounts, schedule, and applicable conditions will be communicated before enrollment.
Unless expressly disclosed and separately authorized, a course purchase does not create an ongoing subscription or automatic renewal.
9. Intellectual Property and Personal Use
Course videos, presentations, worksheets, written materials, and other educational resources are protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.
Materials remain the property of IAOTRC or their respective copyright holders.
Enrollment provides access for individual educational use, subject to the stated course access terms.
Participants may not reproduce, redistribute, resell, publicly share, or use course materials commercially without appropriate written permission.
Materials specifically designated as downloadable worksheets or personal learning resources may be downloaded and used for individual educational purposes.
10. Privacy and Participant Interactions
IAOTRC handles personal information in accordance with its applicable Privacy Policy.
Mighty Networks may also collect and process information under its own terms and privacy practices.
If optional community discussions, live sessions, or participant interactions are provided, participants are encouraged to respect the privacy of others and avoid sharing another person's identifying or sensitive information without permission.
IAOTRC cannot guarantee the confidentiality of information voluntarily shared with other participants.
Participants are not required to disclose personal trauma histories to participate in either course.
