The International Association of Trauma Recovery Coaching was founded by Bobbi L. Parish, MA, CTRC-S in the Fall of 2017 and has trained over 900 coaches. A survivor of childhood abuse herself, Bobbi has used her graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy to work with other trauma survivors. In January 2014 she switched from providing therapy to providing coaching, pioneering a profession that had only begun. After experiencing how powerfully coaching helped survivors of trauma heal Bobbi decided to help others become Trauma Recovery Coaches. As one person she could help a limited number of survivors heal. But teaching other coaches and sending them into the world would provide thousands of survivors with high quality, easily accessible help.

I recently worked with a coach from the IAOTRC, and it has truly been life-changing. The sessions provided a safe and supportive space to explore my experiences, and the coach's guidance was both compassionate and empowering. The tools and strategies I learned helped me gain deeper insights into my healing journey, and I now feel more equipped to manage my emotions and move forward with confidence. Working with a coach from the IAOTRC who has a trauma focus has not only improved my mental well-being but has also restored a sense of hope for the future. I am incredibly grateful for this experience and highly recommend it to anyone seeking healing and support.

I cannot speak highly enough of the training I received from the International Association of
Trauma Recovery Coaches (IAOTRC). I was both surprised and deeply impressed by the quality
and depth of their curriculum. The training exceeded my expectations in every way, offering a
robust, well-rounded foundation that expanded my existing knowledge while introducing me to
new concepts and approaches in the field of trauma recovery.
What stood out most was the program's comprehensive nature. The curriculum seamlessly
integrated theoretical frameworks with practical applications, allowing me to immediately apply
what I learned in my coaching practice. The material not only deepened my understanding of
trauma but also illuminated its multifaceted impact on identity, relationships, and healing
processes. This depth and breadth of content challenged and inspired me, fostering both personal
and professional growth.
One of the most valuable aspects of this certification was how the program, along with the
extensive support I received, equipped me to launch into the emerging field of NPE (Not Parent
Expected) trauma recovery. As commercial DNA testing reshapes the landscape of personal
identity and family dynamics, this specialization is becoming increasingly vital. The IAOTRC
curriculum provided a solid foundation for understanding trauma's complex interplay with
identity and relationships—essential for addressing the unique challenges faced by individuals
navigating NPE discoveries. This training validated the significance of this work while
equipping me with the confidence and tools to step into this space as both a leader and an
advocate.
With a background in marriage and family therapy, behavioral coaching, and consulting, I found
the IAOTRC's approach particularly valuable. Their emphasis on evidence-based practices and a
client-centered ethos made the training not just about acquiring knowledge but about cultivating
a skill set that honors the lived experiences of those navigating trauma.
Equally important was the supportive learning environment fostered by the IAOTRC. From
engaging discussions with knowledgeable instructors to the sense of community among fellow
trainees, the program created a space where questions were welcomed, and growth was
celebrated. This collaborative atmosphere amplified the impact of the learning experience.
Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend the IAOTRC certification program to anyone seeking to
deepen their understanding of trauma recovery, their own lived experiences or embarking on a
meaningful journey in this field. Whether you are new to trauma recovery work or a seasoned
professional looking to refine your skills, this program provides the tools, knowledge, and
confidence needed to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve.Description text goes here
